fREQUENTLY ASKED Questions

Q. WHO ARE OOFOS SHOES FOR AND WHO SHOULD BE WEARING THEM?

The technology behind OOFOS footwear is the unique OOfoam, which absorbs 37% more shock than any other material found in footwear. The patented foot-bed also offers great support, which is why OOFOS are recommended by Health Professionals such as Podiatrists and Physiotherapists. The simplest way to describe OOFOS footwear is by saying that normally you have a very soft material with no support or a relatively hard material with support. OOFOS offers the best of both worlds as the OOfoam is extremely soft and the Patented Foot-Bed offers great support including arch support.

Q. CAN OOFOS HELP ME WITH MY PLANTAR FASCIITIS AND BONE SPURS?

A. Many people have found relief from pain associated with these conditions wearing OOFOS.

Our Patented Foot-Bed has a built in supportive arch and this together with the incredible cushioning of OOfoam can assist the healing process. Many of our customers tell us that have also experienced relief form neuromes, bunions and hammertoes from wearing OOFOS.

Q. CAN OOFOS HELP ME WITH MY KNEE PROBLEMS?

A. Yes they can!

The OOfoam offers 37% more shock absorption than any other material being used in shoes in the marketplace today. The fact that OOFOS will absorb more of the impact when you walk will result in you feeling less pain.

Q. HOW DO OOFOS FOOTWEAR HELP WITH RECOVERY?

A. Most people are wearing shoes that tell their feet where to move.

This is because these shoes are very structured. Athletic shoes can be stiff as they quite often are geared for stability. Orthotics are designed to do the same thing. OOFOS shoes are about the "feel" and helping your feet and you to feel better!  Our patented foot-bed design offers a lot of support and the OOfoam provides 37% more shock absorption than any other materials found in footwear. This translates to giving the feet and your body relief from the effects of weight bearing and thus helps the wearer recover from the physical demands of their activity, whether it be from sports, working or being on their feet all day.

Q. HOW LONG CAN I WEAR THE SHOES?

A. We find that most people don't want to take off their OOFOS once they put them on.

It's best to ask your feet. We promise they will let you know!

Q. WHAT IS THE LIFE SPAN OF OOFOS SHOES? HOW LONG WILL THEY LAST?

A. Our OOfoam maintains the cushioning longer than other materials that have a soft feel. In our experience, we see some wear on the bottom over time with normal wear; however, the foot-bed maintains the shape and cushion feel for a very long time. It will also depend on the persons walking style. We recommend checking the soles of your OOFOS regularly to assess the wear and replace if excessive wear exists.

Q. ARE OOFOS LIKE CROCS?

A. We would like your feet to answer this question for you.

Once you try on a pair of OOFOS you will know the answer straight away. Our material is unique and exclusive to OOFOS as we are the only brand of footwear to use OOfoam. The patented foot-bed design and the OOfoam are what make OOFOS different and distinguish us from all other brands. Another wonderful feature of our shoes is that on wet surfaces, our shoes have a fantastic grip, so they are great around pools and/or on boats.

Q. MY DOCTOR SAYS FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT GOOD FOR MY FEET, WHY ARE YOURS?

A. Our shoes have a patented foot-bed design offering unparalleled arch support.

The OOfoam also provides 37% more shock absorption than other materials used in shoes in the marketplace today. Doctors have not previously seen what we are offering, so we understand why they say this. One of our missions here at OOFOS is to change that and we are! We have many podiatrists recommending our shoes to their patients and the list is growing in all medical communities and allied health fields (Podiatrists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths and Massage Therapists etc.).

Q. DO OOFOS CONTAIN LATEX OR OTHER CHEMICALS?

A. No! OOFOS do not contain latex, so people with latex sensitivities can safely wear any of our styles. OOFOS do not contain any harsh chemicals, and are made using non-toxic paints.

Q. I HAVE A SMALL SPLIT IN MY OOFOS, HOW CAN I REPAIR THEM?

A. If you have damaged your OOFOS, we would recommend using a non-toxic adhesive PVA glue.

Please avoid using hot glue and strong toxic glues as these may melt the OOfoam and ruin your OOFOS.

Q. HOW DO I CLEAN MY OOFOS?

A. Keeping your OOFOS looking good as new is easy. You can either toss them in your washing machine on the cold cycle with mild detergent or scrub them in the sink with a brush and mild soap. Our OOmg shoes should be washed in cold water on the delicate cycle. Once washed, towel them dry and they’re ready to wear immediately — or put them out to dry in the shade. NEVER put your OOFOS in the dryer.

Q. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE TO ORDER?

A. We have two sizing types of OOFOS. Our OOriginal, OOriginal Sport, OOahh, OOahh Sport and OOCloog styles are all unisex shoes that come in the standard medium width, which is a wide fitting.

Our OOlala collection is a women's specific style and is medium width. You will find that the OOlala has a slightly narrower footbed and we suggest this style for someone with narrow feet.

Our OOmg collection is available in both Men's and Women's styles.

All OOFOS products feature the same patented footbed design produced from our exclusive OOfoam material.

WHOLE SIZES:

If you normally wear a whole size, order the same whole size of OOFOS. Our shoes have a medium-width footbed, but please keep in mind that everyone’s feet are different and the sizing is not the same for everyone.

HALF SIZES:
If you normally wear a half size:
  • Women: we suggest ordering a half size UP for best fit.
  • Men: we suggest ordering a half size DOWN for best fit.

CLOGS : The footbed of each pair of OOFOS shoes is the same, so the OOCloog should fit the same as other OOFOS. However, some people find that they need to size up in the OOCloog, due to it being closed-toe. Particularly in the colder weather, people tend to wear socks with the clog, as well, so we do recommend sizing up if you are questioning the size.

We suggest using our Retail Locator Tool at https://www.oofos.com.au/where-to-buy to find a retail store near you where someone can assist you with fit. Additionally, you can shop worry free at www.oofos.com.au
